Travel Information
All international delegates attending WCLC 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea must ensure they meet entry requirements, including passport validity and visa or K-ETA eligibility. Below is essential visa information to help you prepare for travel.
Visa Requirements
All foreign visitors to the Republic of Korea must possess a valid passport. Depending on your nationality, you may be eligible for visa-free entry or may need to apply for a visa or a Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) prior to arrival.
Many nationalities must apply for a K-ETA at least 72 hours before departure. This electronic travel authorization is required even for visa-exempt travelers. Visit the K-ETA Application website to begin the application process.
Delegates from countries requiring a visa should apply for a Short-Term Visit Visa (C-3-1), specifically for conference attendance.
Document Requirements
- Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)
- Completed visa application form
- Recent passport-sized photo
- Proof of accommodation and return flight
- Invitation letter from WCLC 2026 organizers (available upon request)

Delegates requiring a visa to attend the World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) 2026 may request a visa support letter during the online registration process.
Visa support letters will only be issued to delegates who have completed their registration and paid the applicable registration fees.
To prepare your letter, you will be asked to provide:
- Full name (as shown in your passport)
- Passport number and passport details
- Country of residence
- Intended length of stay in the Republic of Korea
Please note that a visa support letter is provided solely to support your visa application and does not guarantee visa approval. The issuance of a visa remains at the discretion of the relevant embassy or consulate.
If your embassy or consulate requires an endorsement letter, the conference organizers can provide an official endorsement letter issued by the Korean Association for Lung Cancer (KALC) after you have completed your registration.

Please allow a minimum of 20 business days for processing of endorsement letter requests. Requests will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis, and delegates are encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure sufficient processing time before their visa appointment.
WCLC 2026, IASLC, and KALC do not provide guarantee letters or letters accepting financial or legal responsibility for delegates. Only endorsement letters issued by KALC are available.
Please note: Delegates are responsible for determining their own visa requirements and allowing sufficient time for visa processing. WCLC 2026, IASLC, and KALC cannot contact embassies or consulates on behalf of delegates or influence the outcome of any visa application.
Some Korean embassies or consulates may require an original (physical) invitation letter as part of the visa application process.
If a physical invitation letter is required:
- Download the C-3-1 Invitation Form from your local Korean embassy or consulate.
- Complete all applicant sections of the form.
- Leave the “Inviting Party Information” and “Responsibilities of the Inviting Party” sections blank.
- Email the completed form to [email protected].
Please allow a minimum of 20 business days for the processing of physical invitation letter requests. This processing time does not include mailing, which is subject to postal service delivery times. Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Delegates are strongly encouraged to submit their requests as early as possible to allow sufficient processing time before their visa appointment.

COEX is easily accessible from Incheon International Airport via airport limousine bus, subway, or taxi.
