SCIENCE WITHOUT BOUNDARIES: UNITING THE WORLD AGAINST THORACIC CANCER

Call for Proposals

Program

The WCLC 2026 Program Committee invites IASLC Members to submit proposals for interactive Pre-Conference Workshops, taking place on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Workshops should be 1.5 – 2 hours in length and will be open to all registered WCLC 2026 delegates.

Presenting a workshop is an opportunity to share expertise, connect with peers, and support IASLC’s mission of Conquering Lung and Other Thoracic Cancers Worldwide in the 21st Century.

It is an exclusive opportunity for IASLC Members ONLY.

Thank you for your interest. Submissions are now closed.

Only proposals for truly interactive and engaging workshops will be considered.

Proposals built around lectures, traditional talks, or standard panel discussions will not be accepted. Workshops must include hands-on components, participation, demonstration, skills practice, or other formats that actively involve attendees and offer clear, practical takeaways.

What We Are Looking For:

Technical Workshops:

Sessions providing participants with practical, hands-on experience in specific tools, technologies, or methodologies that are shaping the future of thoracic cancer care. The focus should be on developing technical skills that enhance clinical practices, improve research methodologies, or introduce cutting-edge tools that drive better patient outcomes.
  • Training participants interpreting molecular profiling using NGS
  • Training on adaptive radiotherapy techniques using real-time imaging
  • Practical training on robotic platforms for minimally invasive lung resections
  • Practical training on designing and managing clinical trials
  • Utilizing digital platforms and AI tools to streamline pathology workflows
  • Training on AI algorithms for lung cancer detection in CT imaging
  • Training on implementing advanced symptom assessment tools for quality-of-life monitoring
  • Utilizing cutting-edge tools for preclinical studies
  • Techniques for assessing immune responses in lung cancer patients
  • Training on managing symptoms and improving end-of-life care
  • Training on how to speak to patients about smoking cessation without stigmatizing language

Interactive Demonstrations:

Sessions showcasing innovative products, solutions, or procedures in a way that allows participants to interact directly with the technology or methodology being demonstrated. These demonstrations should highlight new or emerging tools that have a direct impact on the treatment or management of thoracic cancers.
  • Real-Time Decision Support with AI-Driven Oncology Platforms
  • Live Virtual Simulation of Adaptive Radiotherapy Planning
  • Robotic-Assisted Thoracic Surgery Training Simulators
  • AI-Powered Digital Pathology for Biomarker Analysis
  • AI-Based Lung Cancer Screening and Nodule Risk Assessment
  • Predictive Modeling for Lung Cancer Screening Outcomes
  • Wearable Technology for Symptom Monitoring in Lung Cancer Patients
  • 3D Bioprinting of Lung Cancer Models
  • Immune Profiling Using Single-Cell Analysis Platforms
  • Virtual Reality (VR) for Pain and Symptom Management in Lung Cancer
  • Using Digital Health Tools for Smoking Cessation Support

Skill-building Workshops:

Sessions focusing on teaching participants new, practical skills or enhancing existing ones that are immediately applicable to their work in the field. These workshops could involve teaching participants how to implement new techniques, interpret new data, or utilize specific resources that they may not be familiar with.
  • Interpreting Molecular Diagnostics for Personalized Therapy
  • Implementing Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) in Practice
  • Mastering Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS)
  • Lung Cancer Screening Interpretation for Low-Dose CT
  • Designing Community-Based Lung Cancer Screening Programs
  • Enhancing Patient Communication in Multidisciplinary Care
  • Implementing CRISPR in Preclinical Lung Cancer Models
  • Practical Skills in Flow Cytometry for Immune Profiling
  • Managing Cancer-Related Fatigue and Symptom Burden
  • Effective Counseling Techniques for Smoking Cessation
